What Clients Have Said
Norzaini Kamaruddin
Operations Manager · Johor Bahru
We brought in Tanjong Forge to look at a receiving and put-away flow that had been causing backups for months. The working session was focused and the flow map they produced showed the problem clearly — it was a handover step we'd missed. The refinement list was specific enough that we acted on most of it within the first two weeks.

The Inventory and Vendor Review took about three weeks in total. Raj and the team looked at our supplier base and the way we'd been managing reorder points — something we'd never done systematically. The findings summary was frank. Some of it was uncomfortable to read, but that honesty is what made it useful. We've since renegotiated two supplier arrangements based on what they found.

We're a mid-sized food distributor and had never used external advisory before. The Supply Flow Check felt like a low-risk way to test the process. We were pleased — they understood our operation without us having to explain basics, which saved a lot of time. We've since gone through the Logistics Operations Programme as well.

The advisors spent time with my team on the floor, not just with management. That made a real difference — the flow map they produced reflected how we actually work, not how the process was supposed to work. One piece of advice: clear some time in your schedule for the handover session. It's worth attending fully.

For the fee involved, the Inventory and Vendor Review gave us more actionable output than I expected. The prioritised action list is what I keep coming back to. We're a small operation and can only tackle things one at a time — having the list ranked by impact made the decisions straightforward. Zulkifli was direct and easy to work with throughout.

We needed someone who understood the Johor distribution environment specifically — the port schedules, the contractor relationships, the informal ways things tend to get done here. Tanjong Forge understood all of that without us having to explain it. The Logistics Operations Programme took six weeks and the phased plan they produced is now guiding our Q3 and Q4 changes.

Supply Flow Check
Consumer goods distributor, Johor Bahru — receiving and put-away delays
The Situation
A mid-sized consumer goods distributor in Johor Bahru was experiencing a recurring backlog at goods-in during peak delivery days. Stock was sitting in the receiving bay for up to two hours before being moved to shelving, creating picking delays downstream.
What We Did
We ran a single working session with the receiving team and supervisors, observing a live delivery window. The flow map identified a missing handover confirmation step between the dock and the inventory system, which was causing shelf assignments to be delayed.
The Outcome
Within three weeks of the session, the revised handover step had been introduced and the receiving backlog reduced noticeably. The team also used the flow map to update their induction material for new staff. Engagement duration: one week.
"The map made the problem obvious to everyone, including people who'd been doing it the old way for years."
Inventory & Vendor Review
Light manufacturer, Kulai — vendor concentration and stock unpredictability
The Situation
A light manufacturer in Kulai had grown to a point where 70% of their key components were sourced from two suppliers. When one experienced an extended lead time issue, the production line was directly affected. Stock forecasting had not kept pace with growth.
What We Did
The three-week review covered the current supplier base, stock movement data, and reorder practices. We compared existing arrangements against alternatives and assessed where vendor concentration posed the most risk. The findings summary and action list were ranked by commercial impact.
The Outcome
The business added a secondary supplier for two key components within the following quarter and revised reorder triggers for five others. The action list also highlighted a recurring overstock pattern on two slow-moving SKUs that had not been previously visible in their reporting. Engagement duration: three weeks.
"Some of the findings we were aware of but had not acted on. Having them ranked by priority made it easier to decide what came first."
